ADVISORY BOARD

CT EMS ADVISORY BOARD (CEMSAB)

MISSION STATEMENT

To represent all persons and agencies in CT concerned with the delivery of the EMS system by making recommendations to improve the EMS patient care delivery system to the Commissioner of Public Health, the Legislature, and the Governor.

ABOUT US

The CT Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board (CEMSAB) was established in 1998 by Public Act 98-195. The Connecticut General Statutes: 19a-178a defines membership and scope. All members are appointed by State Legislators or the Governor and serve voluntarily. Forty-one members make up the Board.

OUR ROLE

The advisory board serves in a general advisory capacity, assists in coordinating the efforts of all persons and agencies in the state concerned with the emergency medical service system, and renders advice on developing the emergency medical service system where needed. CEMSAB is provided a reasonable opportunity to review and make recommendations on all regulations, medical guidelines, and policies affecting emergency medical services before the department establishes such regulations, medical guidelines, or policies. CEMSAB makes recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly concerning legislation that, in their judgment, will improve the delivery of emergency medical services.
